Friday Random Ten: Holiday Edition

With Yule Balls in two cities, another wizard rock show at the Bourse, Gogol Bordello the other night, you’d think I’d have plenty to write about… and you’d be correct! The holidays are keeping me busy, but I must say: I love Christmas.

You know what day it is! Time to put your digital music player on shuffle (iTunes this week), click play, and list the first ten songs that show up. You must resist the temptation to click past the bad or embarrassing songs.

  1. “Moving in Stereo” (the Cars)
  2. “T.N.T.” (AC/DC)
  3. “Kabalah” (Astral Projection)
  4. “Demon Days” (Gorillaz)
  5. “New Year” (the Breeders)
  6. “My Hero” (Foo Fighters)
  7. “Twentienth Century Fox” (the Doors)
  8. “Not Gonna Be Alone” (Eve 6)
  9. “New Genious (Brother)” (Gorillaz)
  10. “Flying Over the Dateline” (Moby)

Bonus #11 “Clumsy” (Our Lady Peace), just because OLP is my favorite band (next to Uncle Monsterface) and it came up next.

Most Favorite: Eve 6’s “Not Gonna Be Alone” from their 2003 It’s All in Your Head

Least Favorite: “New Genious” from the Gorillaz’ 2001 self-titled.

Seen Live: Foo Fighters (3 April 2000), Moby (14 April 2005)

Other FRTers: list to come later, folks
