iPod, Lovely iPod

From October 2004 until just this past Saturday, I’d had my trusty 30gig Creative Jukebox Zen, which served me very well. However, with a road trip coming up next week, I knew it was time to upgrade. So B and I took a ride out to Microcenter, where I strolled directly to the Apple section, grabbed the nearest associate, and proclaimed “I’m here to get a 60gig iPod, please!”

I left the store with my new music toy, a 3-pack of rubbery grippy cases, the universal dock, and a car charger.

Saturday and Sunday was mostly spent ripping CDs (I bought the new Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Stadium Arcadium) and transferring files.

I found out when I got to work this morning, though, that Mac-formatted iPods do not work on PCs. I definitely do not want to reformat it, even though the PC-formatted version would work on both PC and Mac. I’ve read that XPlay is a handy program for connecting Mac-formatted iPods to a PC, but I wonder if it’s worth the price. (Luckily a trial version is available.)

Do you love your iPods? Do you connect on PC or Mac, and what are you favorite uses?
